TechSutra: Chrome For Mac: An Update

  • Name · 4 months ago
Latest Chrome build crashes for me even when launched from the command line and using the --disable-plugins argument. ??
  • Manu J · 4 months ago
Hmm.. hasn't happened to me ever. Did you remove your profile "~/Library/Application\ Support/Chromium/" ?

    Great update!

BTW, correct this part: "..controls on the player works as expected". the word is "work" without the "s".

You've also been quiet on Twitter lately..

Looking to be a little more active on twitter from now on. I was also trying to cut down on distractions.

    re ChromiumNoFlash

I just can't get this to finish downloading - gets to about 98% and hangs forever.
I'd be grateful for any help.

    Thank you.

It's quite funny why there's a crusade against Flash, where the alternatives are far from providing the user experience Flash already does. I guess is another more time fanboys commiting to Mr Jobs' personal likes, dislikes or business model.

If Chrome goes to 100% displaying basic Flash content, it's Chrome's fault.

It is not chrome's or firefox's fault. It is actually flash's fault because
the plugin is made by adobe and not chrome/firefox. I said that "flash on
mac" is crap, which it is. On windows flash doesn't take up so much CPU
while on linux and mac it does. It is just a case of adobe ignoring mac and
linux users. To see another example, the latest flash beta has hardware
accelerated video only for the windows platform at present.
